On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar near Mandalay, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The tremors were felt as far as Bangkok, Thailand, resulting in significant structural damage and casualties across both nations.
Myanmar:
Casualties: At least 1000 fatalities and over 2500 injuries reported.
Infrastructure Damage: Historic sites in Mandalay and Sagaing suffered severe destruction. A 90-year-old bridge collapsed, and major highways connecting Mandalay and Yangon were severely damaged.
State of Emergency: The government has declared a state of emergency in six regions, including Sagaing, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw, and has appealed for international humanitarian aid.
Thailand:
Casualties: At least 10 deaths and dozens of injuries reported in Bangkok.
Structural Damage: A 30-story government office under construction in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district collapsed, trapping workers under debris.
Disruptions: Public transportation services were suspended, and trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand was halted due to the tremors.
Immediate Relief Needed:

- Water & Food Essentials: Rice (1kg), noodles (5 packets), canned fish (2 cans), sugar (2 packets), mung dal, and energy drinks.
- Infant & Hygiene Care: Milk powder, Huggies, sanitary pads, toilet paper rolls, soap, detergent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and face masks.
