Blazing Tragedy: Heatwave Induced Fire Kills 40 in Bihar Village :Help Us Respond A Disaster Fueled by Heat

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a devastating fire broke out in a village in Raghavpur village , Bihar, claiming the lives of over 40 people. The fire was triggered by extremely high temperatures, with mercury soaring beyond 47°C, turning homes built of hay, bamboo, and tin into ashes within minutes. Several others have suffered severe burns, and dozens of families are now homeless.

This incident isn’t isolated. The ongoing heatwave across North India is wreaking havoc in rural areas. In Uttar Pradesh, districts such as Ballia, Varanasi, and Mirzapur are also reporting rising cases of heatstroke, dehydration, and fire risks as temperatures remain dangerously high.

Captain Rajveer Singh, a decorated ex-Army officer, leads the overall disaster response for BDRF. With more than 20 years of experience in crisis management and operations, he is at the helm of coordinating the entire relief initiative. His leadership ensures that all efforts, from aid distribution to on-ground medical services, are carried out with precision and speed.
His strategic leadership and military precision, combined with the expertise of the core team, ensure that BDRF’s operations are not only effective but life-saving in these critical times.

Dr. Aarti Deshmukh – Chief Medical Officer

Leading the medical relief team, Dr. Aarti Deshmukh has over 15 years of expertise in emergency and community health. She ensures that essential medical services, including treatment for injuries and prevention of disease outbreaks, are delivered swiftly to survivors.

Her leadership in public health makes a significant impact in keeping the affected population safe from post-disaster health hazards.

Amit Patel – Logistics and Supply Chain Manager

Amit Patel plays a critical role in managing the complex logistics of our relief operations. His background in disaster management and logistics ensures that food, clean water, and essential supplies are efficiently distributed across flood-stricken areas.
