A devastating fire in Tandi village, Jibhi Valley, Himachal Pradesh, has left around 20 families homeless, destroying homes, sheds, essential resources, and livelihoods. The Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF) has launched an emergency rescue and relief drive to provide immediate support to the affected families and help them rebuild their lives.
About the Disaster:A massive fire broke out in Tandi village, in the Jibhi Valley of Himachal Pradesh’s Banjar subdivision, destroying 20 homes and crucial structures, such as cow sheds and fodder storage. The fire spread rapidly, fueled by firewood and fodder stored for the winter. Villagers and fire tenders worked tirelessly to control the fire, but extensive damage occurred before it was finally contained.
Key Facts:
Houses Destroyed: 20 homes were gutted by the fire.
Displaced Families: Many families are now homeless, facing the harsh winter.
Estimated Damage: Property loss worth Rs. 10 crore.
No Casualties: Thankfully, families and livestock were moved to safety.
Immediate Relief Needed:
The affected families are in urgent need of support as they struggle to cope with this tragedy. Basic necessities like warm blankets, mattresses, groceries, kitchen utensils, and temporary shelters are essential to help them survive and start rebuilding their lives. For children, the fire has not only robbed them of their homes but also disrupted their education. Providing basic education materials is critical to ensuring their future remains bright despite the challenges.
