As winter grips Assam, the plight of vulnerable communities, especially elderly citizens, children, and homeless families, has worsened following the devastating floods earlier this year. The lingering effects of the floods have left many without proper shelter, warm clothing, or basic necessities to face the biting cold.
The aftermath of the floods has forced countless families to live in makeshift shelters, with elderly individuals shivering through freezing nights and children battling illnesses caused by the cold. These conditions have turned the harsh winter into a life-threatening challenge for many in the state.
BDRF’s Mission: Warmth and Hope
To address this urgent need, Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF) has launched a Winter Relief Campaign in Assam. Our aim is to bring immediate warmth, comfort, and care to the most affected individuals.
We are focusing on distributing:
Woolen Clothes: Sweaters, thermals, caps, and gloves for children and the elderly.
Warm Blankets and Quilts: To protect families from freezing nights.
Hygiene Kits: Ensuring health and cleanliness amidst challenging conditions.
Basic Food Supplies: Providing essential rations for sustenance during these tough months.
BDRF has a proven track record of effective disaster relief and community support. This winter, we are focusing our efforts on:
